Case study · FRP materials trader · Biratnagar, Nepal

Samrat FRP Traders: a bilingual Nepali and English supplier website

A trader that imports from a supplier has to be honest about that on every page, in the language its buyers read. I designed and built this site in Nepali and English around that, and I help manage it.

The business
A trader, supplier, importer and reseller of FRP materials in Biratnagar, Nepal. Its site gives the legal name as M/s Samrat F.R.P. Traders and describes it as a trader, supplier, importer and reseller.
Who the site is for
FRP fabricators and buyers across Nepal. The site describes nationwide supply in Nepal.
Language
Nepali by default, English alongside it. Each Nepali page has an English page and the two point to each other.
My role
Designed, built and help manage the website.
Scale today
676 URLs in its own sitemap (338 in each language), 51 products in 9 categories, 62 application guides (counted 11 October 2026).
How it is run
A static Astro site.

The problem

Buyers in Nepal need to browse a product range in Nepali, see who actually makes what they are buying, and ask for a quotation quickly. A trader also has to avoid looking like a manufacturer: the data sheets belong to the supplier, and the site has to say so.

My own account, not a measured baseline: before this site the business found it hard to get enquiries through its website. I have no enquiry count from before the build to compare with, so this starting point is described, not measured.

What I delivered

Two languages done as two sites, not a switch

  • Nepali is the default and English is one tap away. 338 pages in each language, and each page points to its counterpart so Google can tell them apart (reciprocal en-NP and ne-NP language tags).
  • A clear NE / EN switch in the header on every page.

An honest trader’s structure

  • The header and home page say Trader · Supplier · Importer · Reseller. Product pages say the product is supplied and imported by the business, with technical documentation issued by the supplier, Samrat Poly Resins.
  • 51 products in 9 categories, with the supplier’s data sheet for every one (51 of 51), and 62 application guides.
  • Pages a trader needs and a manufacturer’s site does not: sales returns and complaints, documents, and terms.

Enquiry paths

  • A WhatsApp-first enquiry form: it collects name, company, product, quantity, delivery city, intended use and a message, and the button opens WhatsApp with the message prepared. Product pages link to it with the product name already filled in. Nothing is sent until the visitor presses send in WhatsApp.
  • Phone numbers for Nepal and India, a floating WhatsApp button, and a quotation button near the top of the first screen.
  • An AI product-expert assistant that accepts Nepali, Hindi or English. This is a backend feature that was scoped for this business; none of my packages include one.

How enquiries reach the business

This site has no backend form. Its enquiry button works the way this studio’s own Contact page does, which makes the limits easy to state.

WhatsApp enquiry form
The visitor fills in the form and the button opens WhatsApp with the message prepared. The page cannot tell whether the message was then sent, so it does not claim that it was.
Phone
Telephone links for the Nepal and India sales numbers.
AI product expert
A separate assistant for questions about grades and documents. It is not an enquiry form.

Limit: Because the form hands over to WhatsApp, the only record of an enquiry is in the business’s own WhatsApp and phone. I do not hold a log, so I cannot publish a count.

What happened, and what I can and cannot say

My own observation, not a measured result and not a customer quotation: since launch the business has received enquiries and WhatsApp messages through the site, some from outside India.

  • I cannot say how many, which countries, or how many were serious. No before-and-after enquiry log exists to compare.
  • I cannot say which enquiries came because of the website rather than other channels or existing customers.
  • An enquiry from another country is an enquiry, not a completed export order. I am not claiming any order.

Measured records

  • I have no verified traffic, search or enquiry record for this site that I am willing to publish, so none is shown here.

When there is a record with a clear window and source, it will be added with its date.

No testimonial is published for either project: none has been verified, and I do not write one on anyone’s behalf.

What would carry over to your project

Fits the packages

  • A second language done properly: every page that matters written in that language and linked to its counterpart.
  • Honest positioning: what the business is, who makes the product, and whose documents are shown.
  • A WhatsApp-first enquiry route with the limits stated (the same pattern as this studio’s Contact page).

The three packages describe how many pages each covers, and what is and is not included.

Not part of a package unless agreed in writing

  • The AI assistant and any other backend feature: not part of any package unless written into a proposal.
  • Translation itself is a separate piece of work: a second language is a real project, because someone who reads it has to check every page.

Depends on you

  • The business has to supply and confirm the product facts, and someone who reads the second language has to check the text.

This project is larger and more specialised than a typical first project. Read it as an example of the approach, not as a price list. See also the Samrat Poly Resins case study for a different audience and a different enquiry route.
