Website maintenance
Keep your website working after launch
A launched site still needs someone to notice when a link breaks, a form stops working or a page needs a change. Maintenance and monitoring is an optional monthly service, separate from the build, with its scope written into your proposal.
What this is, and what it is not
A website is not finished when it launches. Contact details change, a product is added, a phone number is updated, a link goes dead, an image is replaced with one that is far too large. None of it is dramatic, and most of it goes unnoticed until a customer mentions it.
Maintenance and monitoring is a monthly service that keeps an eye on those ordinary faults and handles small changes. It is optional, separate from the website package and written into a proposal before it starts. It is not an emergency service, not a hosting service, and not SEO.
What a plan can cover
These are the items a plan like this usually lists. Which of them apply to your site, and at what price within the ₹3,000 to ₹6,000 range, is decided in your written proposal. If an item is not written there, it is not included.
- Checking the site is up and the main pages open.
- Checking the enquiry routes: the call link, the WhatsApp link and the form that opens WhatsApp still work.
- Checking links for pages that have moved or disappeared.
- Small content changes: a new phone number, a changed price, a replaced photograph, a new product or application page within an agreed limit.
- Keeping the files safe: a copy of the site held somewhere other than the hosting account, so a mistake can be undone. See HTTPS, backups and updates for what that means.
- A short monthly note saying what was checked and what changed.
The note on what a maintenance plan should include lists the questions to ask anyone who offers you one, including us.
What it does not cover
- Emergency recovery after an attack or a hosting failure, and any promise of a response time, unless written into the proposal.
- Platform-specific work on WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix or similar systems. The sites we build are hand-built, and that is what we maintain.
- New features that need a backend, such as accounts, bookings or online payments. They are separate work.
- SEO. Growth and Complete include agreed SEO work in the build and the first 30 days after launch. Continuing it from month two is optional. See Website design with SEO.
- Domain, hosting and paid tools. They stay in your name and at your cost. Who owns your website, domain and hosting explains why that matters.
Maintenance or bug support?
Every package includes post-launch bug support: 14 days with Essential, 30 with Growth and 45 with Complete. It covers faults in what was built, found after launch. It does not cover new content or new pages.
Maintenance is for what comes after that period: the changes you will want over the following months and the checking that nobody else is doing. If you do not expect many changes and you are happy to message us when something needs fixing, you may not need a plan at all. We would rather tell you that than sell you one.
How to start
- Tell us the address of the site and who built it, or, if we built it, say so.
- Tell us what changes you expect to make in a typical month.
- We send a written proposal with the scope, the monthly price and how to stop.
- You agree, or you do not. Nothing starts without your yes.
Access matters: we will need your hosting and domain logins, or an arrangement for them. Website logins and access explains how to share them safely. To ask about a plan, message or call Harman. The prices of the packages and the optional monthly services are on the pricing page.
Questions people ask
What does maintenance and monitoring cost?
It is an optional monthly service at ₹3,000 to ₹6,000 per month, excluding applicable taxes. Where a site falls in that range depends on its size and on what you want covered, and the exact figure and scope are written into your proposal before anything starts.
Is maintenance included in a package?
No. A package includes post-launch bug support for a fixed period (14 days for Essential, 30 for Growth, 45 for Complete). That covers faults in what was built. Maintenance and monitoring is a separate monthly service that starts only if you agree to it.
Does it renew or bill automatically?
No. Nothing on this site starts, renews or bills without your agreement, and how a plan ends is written into the proposal.
Can you maintain a site someone else built?
Send us the address and tell us what it runs on. We will say honestly whether we can take it on before suggesting a plan. We do not offer WordPress, Shopify or other platform-specific maintenance, so that is the usual limit.
Will you fix a hacked or broken site in an emergency?
Emergency recovery is not part of this service and we do not promise a response time unless one is written into your proposal. Monitoring is meant to catch ordinary faults early, such as a broken link or a form that has stopped working.
Does it include SEO?
No. Search work is a different service. Growth and Complete include their first month of SEO, and continuing it is optional and priced separately.
